There are three keys to setting yourself apart from competing Chief Financial Officers …
– Market Differentiation
– Visibility to a Clear Target Market
– Being Findable by Recruiters
It’s not about being “like” all your competition, blending in, and appealing to anyone and everyone. Rather, it is about being distinctly YOU to a targeted audience that needs -and wants- distinctly YOU!

Cindy:
Thank you for a very excellent article. You helped me to realize that I have been neglecting the marketing of myself. My digital footprint is virtually nonexistent. I’ve been a CFO for the same company for about 14 years. I’ve been integral to the development and success of my company through its many strategic changes and challenges. Sadly, I’ve never taken stock of my unique contributions and how I did it. Your article teaches an important lesson and provides a good reminder and a good “kick in the pants.”
Best Regards
George
Thank you, George!
Although I’m frequently evangelizing about how important it is to get in the driver’s seat of your career, I don’t often hear when my audience “gets it.” Thanks for letting me know you do get it!
Warmly,
Cindy
