The crazy, frenetic pace of the holidays is now over. The usual commitment to any New Year’s resolutions has almost come to a close. The new year lies like a blank canvas before you, and you get to envision and create the complete picture with concrete goals, not just mouthing wishful resolutions.
From a career perspective, what is it that you want to accomplish in 2013? You might not be ready to make a career move, but you might want to make this the year you get fully prepared for a future move. Let me ask you this: do you already have your 2013 vacation plans in place? If you do, does it not strike you as strange that you would be planning a vacation—an event that takes money out of your pocket—rather than planning your next career move—something that actually funds all the fun things you plan to do?
