THAT NETWORKING THING

Need a boost in the networking arena? Here are a few strategies to kick–start this critical job search strategy.

––Begin!! Start with a few good names. Just get started. Once the energy is flowing, your networking will take on a life of its own. But for now, get started!

––Identify who you need to know and who needs to know about you, and create a plan to get that introduction.

––Create your profiles and network online at Linked In and Ryze. Linked In has a tool that works with Outlook to search your emails for addresses of people who are already Linked In members that you may want to contact. If you’re not a member, let me know and I’ll send you an invitation. If you are already a member, please be sure to join my network.

––And you know this one … once you’ve worked hard to build your network, don’t let it fall apart. If you’ve used up your contacts and then thrown them away, the next time around it will be much more difficult!

For anyone who wants more in–depth information, I highly recommend Harvey MacKay’s “Dig Your Well Before You’re Thirsty” and “Make Your Contacts County” by Anne Barber, et al. And of course, coaching with me if you find yourself still stuck!
